First i have to say what a difference from the 2003 to this 2015 !!!!!
but i spent a lot of time looking for a new truck. as we all know there is a trillion big horn models out on the market. but i cant for the life of me understand why my outdoors men has as many if not more options than most of the big horns i looked at the only thing i don't have that i would like is the dual exhaust bumper and pipes other than that the only thing it doesn't have is a sun roof and leather ? can some one help me understand ?

I made the same year jump. I went from a 2003 4.7 single cab long bed to a 2015 Hemi Crew Cab Big Horn. These trucks have come a LONG way.

I owned a 2015 in both Outdoorsman and Big Horn (long story), but the Big Horn is my current vehicle.

I was impressed with the Outdoorsman’s equipment. Biggest difference was engine size, exhaust and tire size. Some Outdoorsman have skid plates and tow hooks. I think the Outdoorsman model was designed for owners who want more of the luxury items at a lower cost. It’s more of a trim-line creation by RAM.

As it ended up, my particular Big Horn has factory leather and a roof. Definitely happy with the Hemi in the Big Horn - but the Outdoorsman is a nice choice!

Btw, the salesman said “take the extra mileage” when I was disappointed about the Outdoorsman not being a Hemi. Truth is, my mileage is as good with the Big Horn (Hemi) using mid-grade gas.

The outdoorsman is SLT just like the big horn. A Big horn is a package inside the SLT trim package. The outdoorsman is a out door/ off road packackage with skid plates LT tires (on the 17in wheels) it also has the stronger transfsecase but you can get anything on it that you can a bighorn other than the dual exhaust. Congrats on the new truck. Also we require pics

Also factory leather on the outdoorsman/bighorn would be katskin added by the dealer witch you can have installed when ever.

Cody,
From time to time members have sold the rear bumpers off their truck that have the dual exhaust cutouts. Just check the "For Sale" section regularly and you might find one for sale. ARH has a nice dual exhaust system that is now available from Moe's Performance, a preferred vendor on this site. You might give Matt a call and talk with him about the system.

My '17 Big Horn crew cab has the skid plates and tow hooks. Also came with the 5.7 hemi. I have the cloth seats and I like them better than the leather in our '16 Town & Country. ftd

I would say the reason for all the options is because the original owner ordered it that way. My 15 Outdoorsman was also loaded up the way I wanted it from factory.

i am thinking about duals but i may run them up and just peek them out of the rear fender just behind the tire to keep it clean and tucked away. at first i didnt really care about having all the "Fancy" features like heated seat and steering wheel but now that winter keeps dragging on here in pa i am glad to have them !!!!
