Short runner valve

I know this has been written about quite a few times. I've got code p1004 popping up. I currently have my intake manifold off the truck. I've read the tsb write up and called the dealer. The short runner control is about 50 dollars and the wiring kit is another 50. A whole lot cheaper than I expected.

Has anyone performed this themselves. I'm afraid to cut into the wiring harness and screw something up.

Also, is there a way to test the runner actuator in alfaobd?

I had this happen to me right before my warranty ended and they had to bypass part of the wiring harness and essentially hotwire the SRV. That was all per a tsb/star case. However the codes mine were popping was P2008 and P2016.

I know the function is present in alfaobd but I've never tried it. Some of the tests in Alfa don't actually work....

The tsb write seems straight forward. Just not sure if I want to do it.

Either way I'll have to put back together and see if I done anything. Doubt I have but I'll order it if I have to
