I have 4 outstanding recalls on my truck
LOSS OF CRANKSHAFT POSITION
EGR COOLER
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP
SAFETY RECALL U74 TAILGATE LATCH

I have 152,000 km on my truck. The engine was replaced under warranty at 75,000 km. The EGR recall was out already at that time, but no parts were available yet. Not sure if the new engine already has the updated EGR on it
Then at about 85,000 km the fuel pump went on the truck. I had it replaced under warranty. The recall was not out yet when this happened.

For the fuel pump, is the recall a different pump of better quality?

My truck is working fine so I'm reluctant to have work done on it, and then I will start having problems.

For the loss of the crankshaft position, my understanding is that is a software update only.

I would like to hear feedback from the community on the recalls. I bought the truck new and so far like it. On the new engine, I started making the oil changes more often. I used to go by the manufacturer intervals. Now I change the oil every 8000 to 10000km

Why would you not want to see/find out what fuel pump you have and if its the old style get it updated to the new its free, same goes for the EGR cooler & software update for crank position....

I found another post somewhere else were two individuals had a bad experience having the fuel pump replaced. Apparently the check engine light came on and the dealer couldn't figure out why. The check engine code was related to the fuel pump

Do it!

Well yes other than the issue with fuel pumps the other ones why not..
if you're on the highway and a sudden power loss causes you to lose control and you need to pull over can be hazardous to you and others on the road.

And the latch if you're carrying stuff and the tailgate fails...and you lose cargo and hits cars behind you, do you really want to be held responsible for damages to lives/ cars behind you?

Personal choice OP. None is us can tell U wat to do.
There is 1 recall safety NHTSA on my truck, but not want them messing around with software update. Heck still have original OS for my Uconnect 4. Every time they go into BCM they screw sumthin else up but that is just my experience.

OP do wat works for U.

Seems like an outlier. I'd suggest getting the updated HPFP and not sweating your old one grenading. Your EGR cooler likely has a bit of soot in the lines...could be a bit clogged....maybe it isn't. Either way, you get a new part for free.
