Okay. I know I’ve seen this issue discussed but I can’t find it. I also interrupted a post by Wild one to mention it.
I have no active subscription to Sirius Xm. Truck came Feb 25 with the obligatory 3months. I let it lapse, getting all the crud in the post, email, now texts? to renew.

The problem now, very recent, is over the air pop ups on my media screen in my truck! I can delete them but they come back around. I have googled it , tried looking in the system to turn off notifications for Sirius.

I went on their web site, you can opt out via your account BUT I DONT HAVE AN ACTIVE ONE SO I CANT!

According to their customer service after a phone call only way is to write in.

For fellow sufferers here it is.

Good luck! I’m gonna do this. I find it so ****** annoying and intrusive.

Ah! Maybe it IS just a holiday period drive?
I might take the high road and leave it to New Year. I have enough going on without entering into a lengthy snail mail trail trial with them!

Thanks for input. I am not the only one, an acquaintance of mine at my gym also had this started suddenly so you could well be right.

I don't think I've ever seen this, but I bought my truck with 2 years on the clock.
Although I did get a short free subscription, and although I paid for XM for several years while I was still working and commuting, I never saw any radio spam after retiring and ending the service.
I got some email spam from XM so I eventually unsubscribed from that as well.

The whole holiday thing makes sense to me too.

I sniffed around online and couldn't find a definitive solution, but several made reference to setting the Infotainment radio default source to FM or Bluetooth, and not seeing Sirius again.

I will look for this setting on my 8.4C a bit later, but I don't know if that will help on your radio.
Have you scanned all the settings for your Infotainment radio?

I have, for sure. There are reports of switching to Sirius XM and doing that there but again, it asks for account details and if you don’t have one that’s it…
Thanks for the help . I THINK I have my FM set as default. Maybe I need to do something in the profile page.

In Vehicle Messaging is a thing with Stellantis - not just Sirius!

Thank god I don’t get this garbage on my 12 inch UC4. I would go ballistic on Stellantis and their so called customer care specialist.

The following 'Opt-out' text came from the article above, posted by Dredger;

Stellantis In-Vehicle Message (IVM) .jpg

It's worth a try.

As for the default Source setting, I'm not overly confident that setting will have any impact on the IVM SPAM.

The following Media Source Select is from my Uconnect 8.4C radio. Bluetooth is selected and appears more illuminated than the other options.

I pay the discounted rate of $8.50/month CDN for Sirius Radio.
AFAIK, it's sold to US subscribers at a discounted rate of $4 or $5/month.

If it’s the same crap I had, and it sounds like it, I called the number on the screen and then hung up as soon as someone or some robot picked up. The crap stopped. Hope it works for you.

I don’t listen to ANY radio, but I heard most can track your vehicle for ‘info’. I’m thinking of disconnecting the shark fin antennae on the roof. Can anyone think of a problem there?

Navigation? Emergency contact if you stuck? Dunno how important those are to you.
Not a bad idea tho if one doesn’t need the radio.

There are many threads on this topic, and the subject has been beaten to death.

That said, I share your privacy concerns and have plotted to remove the Sierra Wireless card from the Uconnect 8.4C radio in my truck. The card can be easily unplugged and removed.
Just after 3 years of ownership (Jan '25), I stopped receiving truck info reports from Stellantis.

I would guess that Stellantis only pays for the data for a set period. I suspect that someone/somewhere is continuing to stockpile that data, but I have fewer concerns about that.

The bonus for you, if the truck year indicated in your avatar is accurate, nobody is listening or gathering ancient 2G data anymore.

AFAIK, 3G was terminated in the USA in 2022 and was scheduled for termination in Canada in 2025.

BTW, removing the antenna could create problems for water ingress. If my OCD couldn't be kept under control, I would choose to remove the Sierra Wireless card before causing a potential water-related headache.

Again, nobody is listening to 2G or 3G anymore.

Interesting theory that the pop up ads are setting the customer market up for a "paid upgrade" to eliminate advertising down the road.

Weird...I wonder if it's part of a holiday "promo" period to get new subscribers? After I let my free period end I haven't heard a peep from them...thankfully (knocking on wood).
dont pay more than $6 a month

I stopped paying a couple yrs ago, and every month I get a new letter from them.
Last one about a week ago, it’s down to $5 ca / month now.
I was paying $90/ yr at the last
Every time I stopped renewing,
It would get cheaper

I think with the new phones, less people are paying for it
I have never paid for updates on navigation, never got lost.

That's me. I haven't bothered with anything other than streaming for years. If I'm heading into areas with no coverage, I have downloaded playlists.

XM has more variety than FM by a good amount, but if you listen to it for hours it loops as well. Same songs over and over and over and ov....
