Smarty jr update

I bought a 2011 ram 3500 6.7 and the original owner bought a smarty jr. programmer and did the dpf delete but not the egr. So I am planning on doing the egr delete in the next week or so. So I called the smarty company and they confirmed the programmer I have can be used for the egr delete but I needed to make sure the file is uploaded on the programmer and was told the only place I can get the file was on the dodge forum since it's illegal for the company to do it so does anyone on here have the file to help me out?

What file does it have on it now? If it has the Me file for a 2011 on it then its already set up to delete the EGR anyway as they are part of the same program. There's a guide out there on the web somewhere called Smarty Me deletes for dummies or something close to that which tells you exactly what to do the truck for both the DPF and EGR deletes. I have it on my home computer along with every Me file that ever was. I can help you further later on today unless someone else comes along and does it sooner. What I would do if I were you would be to look on the internet and find out how to do the EGR delete and then do it and see how she runs and go from there. I've never seen anyone with a Smarty delete the DPF and not the EGR at the same time.

I don't understand why they did the dpf and not the egr I believe if your doing one go ahead and do both but anyway how do I find out what file is on the programmer?

I did the same on my ‘10, the electronics completely disable the EGR so you don’t have to remove anything........loved my Smarty Jr, super clean tune!

If the DPF is deleted than you’re already running an ME tune

You might have better luck on the Cummins forum, but it looks like Tidefan has the info you need.

Heck, I’ve still got the egr delete kit sitting in my garage..........

Hi, sorry that am doing it this way but I'm new to this and don't know how to respond to this yet, anyways I know it's a long shot but I bought an 2011 6.7 and it already has a smarty jr tune on it but it did not come with the box so I can't change anything, I bought another Smarty jr67 that has the j23ME tune on it "it came off an 08 6.7" so when I plug it in it says error unknown software Smarty tech said I need to up date the jr but I don't know what one I need or how to get it if anyone on here can help me out I'd really appreciate it thanks and the truck is fully deleted. Wow it’s been along time since I made this post. If your new truck already has a tune on it and you don’t have access to the original tuner then you’re gonna have to take it to the dealer more than likely and have it re-flashed back to stock. Of course if it has a bunch of modifications already made to it then you’re gonna have to figure out what they are and address those with the new tuner. Also as far as that tune goes a tune for a 2008 probably won’t work on a 2011. The Me tunes are divided up by years and unfortunately I don’t have them anymore. I used to sell delete tuners on eBay but with a $600 max on eBay sales in order to avoid getting a 1099 I just decided to start working more overtime to supplement my income. Wish I could be of more help, maybe somebody on here can help you or on one of the Cummins forums.

ok thanks for your time. I did contact Mads electrics and told them what was going on and they said I don't have to flash it back to stock that a new jr will override what ever tune is on there I just have to have the right tune for my year
