I have a 2014 5.7 Liter RAM Laramie that will not pass smog. It has a cat and ox senor code that will not complete. My understanding is there is not an issue with these codes other than the truck needs to be cycled to complete them. I drove the truck multiple times per RAM cycling instructions and the codes are still there. I also had a check engine light that was coming on at certain levels of fuel in the tank. I took the truck to RAM and they installed a new fuel pump with a new fuel level indicator. After installing the fuel pump and fuel level indicator the shop took the truck out to try and clear the codes and it was determined that the new fuel pump was faulty. The truck sat in the shop for 5 more days waiting for the new fuel pump to arrive. The shop called me to tell me that they had the new fuel pump installed but when test driving it the check engine light came on indicating that the gas fuel cap needs to be replaced. As a result, I now have a new evap code as well. My understanding is this is a real code that needs to be resolved. RAM checked the fuel cap and told me this is not the issue. Since the evap code was not showing when I gave the truck to RAM. I'm assuming something happened in the process of installing and re-installing the gas tank twice that caused the new evap code. They have had my truck for 9 days. Every time they call me there is something new wrong with the truck. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Best thing to do is let the shop try to rectify all the codes. They have the diagnostic tools and trained technicians with hands on the truck. We can guess at issues but it really makes the most sense to let them run through it, regardless of how frustrating it appears. See what comes out and post back here when they give you an update.

Good luck
