How does everybody handle snow and ice when it accumulates on the Parksense sensors? I'll clear it off but still have to disable them 'till the bumper is dry.

Same here. It sucks, but it's annoying lol

I only get a notice on startup and they automatically disable. I don't really rely on them too much since I'm lifted. Usually pull up till my tires hit something, whether it's another car or whatever. :Big Laugh:

I have the same issue when cold and snowy/icy, even in heavy rain sometimes.

The system disables itself as Jwithing said. I also have a long paved driveway and I typically back in and the system also doesn’t work if you reverse over a few MPH - it tells me this as well. That said, I do appreciate the sensors and use them when parking in unfamiliar areas where I don’t normally park. Anywhere I normally park it’s more like muscle memory for me, and I’m still an old fashioned rear and side mirrors guy as opposed to using the rear camera. My kids make fun of me because they all use the rear cameras in their vehicles now. [emoji1]

Mine are acting up lately and I've disabled the fronts until the weather changes. They're handy when they work, but they suck when they don't!

The one thing that’s helps with the parking sensors is, after a car wash I apply 2-3 coats of wax. It helps not allowing snow and rain build up on the sensors.

I don’t see how people can back up just looking at the reverse cam. The only time I use mine is to align the trailer to the hitch or when I’m backing into a spot in the last few feet so I can get close to whatever is behind me and not bump it. As for backing up and turning and trying to park just looking at the camera, not a chance. I use my side mirrors. When I’m backing up a trailer, I turn around and look out the back windshield. That’s how I was taught by my dad back in the day.

I noticed when I took my truck up in the snow yesterday. The front parking sensors kept freaking out as I was driving back home in the snow, it was in the low 30’s. Once I got back on the freeway it cleared off. I don’t trust the backup camera or sensors too much, but the camera comes in handy to see if there’s a car coming when I’m pulling out. The wide angle helps.

Mine acted up front and rear the other day. Had to wait until they thaw out.
