I have a 2017 ram 3500 that I replaced the rear bumper on purchased from Amazon. Said it was an exact fit which it is not.

I had to splice in a foot to two of the rear parking sensors I checked continuity to each plug and both were good. However when I put the truck in reverse I get an alarm that sensors are failing. I am also getting false readings that the sensors are blocked but there are no obstructions behind the truck.

I’m not sure if I’m posting in the correct thread but if anyone has any insight on this problem input would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Jeff

Adding more wire to the harness can result in enough resistance to create a false positive that the sensor is reading an obstruction, blockage reading as well as sensor failing readings.

Read this Thread. It has a lot of info and a couple of other threads on measuring resistance etc.

This is what they should look like. There are only 4 on my 2021 2500 rear bumper too.
