Hey everyone,
I am wanting to lift my truck(2012 Ram 1500), it is currently sitting on a leveling kit with stock tires. But I am wanting to lift my truck, I have been looking at getting a 3" lift that way I can put either 33's or 35's on it but I am not sure what size I should get. I travel enough no long crazy hauls or anything but not sure if I should go with a 3" or bigger? Thanks!

Might as well get the 4” and 35’s. It’ll give ya a good sporty stance. All in how you want it to look and how much ya wanna spend tho.

So you are saying that the 4" lift with a set of 35's on it has a good stance to it. I will have to look into that. Thanks!

Appearance aside, what is your budget and intended use for the lift? Is your rig a 4WD?

What leveling kit do you currently have? I might be willing to take it off your hands.

are you looking for a suspension lift or a body lift. You can fit 33's on your truck right now.

I'm leaning towards the 3" RCX bolt on kit for mine. I'm not going offroad. The height of the 4" kit is perfect to me and you can definitely run 35's with it, but it's a lot more expensive and requires cutting off stock diff mounts and I just don't want that commitment. I would like to run 35's if I can. Not just to say I have 35's, but because to me, at some angles, 33's or even 305/55's look a little too small in the front when the front end is raised that far. A 34x12.50 would be perfect, but I'm not aware of anyone that makes such a tire. 305/55's usually are a little taller than 33's and only slightly narrower but still not quite enough height in the front wheel well. I'm going to take mine out to the shop and let them look and see if they believe 35's will work with the 3" kit on a moderately negative offset wheel. I don't believe they will on stock or positive offset wheels. I have found several setups online that state they are running 35's on aftermarket negative offset wheels with the 3" RCX kit. Only a couple that say they have slight rub at full lock and I haven't found one yet that said they had to do any trimming.

Hey everyone sorry got super busy at work and have not had a lot of time to reply. And yes the 4" lift is expensive I noticed that when I was looking into them. and yes My rig is a 4WD and I do not mind spending some money on the lift but use of it is I want to drive as a daily driver and then on the weekends and every now and then I will drive at the ranch so it needs to be able to do drive good on the streets. I will try to upload a picture of the way my truck currently looks tomorrow so ya'll can see her.

hey dont want to take over your thread but i too am looking for a lift and thought i would share my prices ive found so far on three lifts. Im looking at a 6in but they all make a 4in too and most are about 200 different in price for 4in compared to 6in.

superlift 6" with bilsteins all around for $1630
Zone 6"/5" with fox adventure shocks in rear and bilsteins upfront for $1765
BDS 6"/5" with fox 2.0 rears and bilsteins upfront for $2,085

I was trying to find something under $1500 because i only plan on having this truck for 2-3 years but also want a quality ride so i can enjoy the truck while i do have it. any thoughts on which route would be best to go? also only gonna be running 35's instead of 37's.. damn 3.21 gear ratio lol

Figured for only about 150 more it's worth getting the extra 2inches. Plus my other truck has a 10in lift so not sure if I would be happy with only a 4inScreenshot_20180212-234324.jpg

That makes sense, nice ride btw I really like that red truck body style. I have looked into getting a 6" lift but I am not sure if it would be the best for me since I do a lot of driving on the weekends.

Thanks man. Do you think there would be that much of a difference between 4 and 6in to affect mpg?

Sorry for the bad photo, took this on my lunch break, but this is how she sits now. And no I don't think there will be a huge difference between a 4 or 6in lift. IMG_2194.JPG

What setting do you plan on putting the Bilsteins at on the Zone or BDS?

Keep in mind the Superlift kit that comes with Bilsteins will not be higher than a 6” kit because the instructions have you set them at max height to get the 6” lift. If your wanting more than that then you’ll need the kit with the tophat spacer then add Bilsteins in addition to that.

Hey this is my first post here but I have a 2012 1500 that I just put the 4 inch Rcx lift on. Mine is only two wheel drove but she is just a daily driver that I put a lot of miles on. The wheel and tire recommendations for both kits are the same. I got 35 inch Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 at and I went with a procomp blockade 20x9.5 wheel with -6 offset and 5 inches of backspace . I get zero scrubbing and I’m really happy it.

Here’s my 4” BDS on 35”s. I have Bilstiens on the front at 1.4”. The front actually rose 5.4”. Most people ask if it’s a 6” lift?

Still up in the air at this point. I was thinking 2.1
