Sports Hood

So the sports hood helps displace hot air from the engine bay according to RAM. And this whole time I thought it was just there for decoration...

Yes the new sport hood vents are functional as heat extraction, kinda mimics the hellcat hood vents.

THat's funny, I went back up in the thread and looked. What I see is a Transformer face. Now I will never look at the 5th Gen 1500 the same way. LOL.

dont know why they advertise that but I have one and the vents near the windshield are for sure solid while the two down near the front of the hood are open to underneath but it looks like they are just open to the depression in the hood. probably just collect water and dirt there and rust out after a while.

I figure that is for sound deadening. my 2019 is not near as quiet as the 2017 sierra I traded in, so I wont be removing any of that stuff from mine plus I bet if you take it off there will not be any openings to the louvers on the outside of the hood.

Actually there is.

I see those openings but on mine I can look thru the louvers that go there and see there is body colored sheet metal on the under side. besides that, the whole underside is covered by a panel of some kind of insulation that has no openings..how does it work.
