Current mods:
powerwire
boost wire
injen CAI
trinity sport tuner (custom tune once mods are done)
fast man TB

My understanding is that the stage two give you firmer shifts. I have the boost line already hooked up and I think it shift fine. however with my future plans of 4.56, headers, nitros, do i need to do a full on valve body swap, or will an upgraded TC do the trick to beef up the tranny.

are you talking about doing a stage II valve body or stage II full on transmission. ive done both. the VB is a nice upgrade, quicker and firmer shifts. the stage II transmission you wont really feel a difference, but you will need it if you are pushing serious power, or pulling huge loads.

I am talking about the VB. Considering puting a bottle on it in the future with a modest spray, hence the beefing of the tranny.

By the way, how long you in japan for. I know i had asked you about this stuff before on another forum.

Hopefully there is someone with experience of 5th wheels out there :)

I have a 2005 Quad Cab with a Hemi and am looking to buy a 5th wheel to tow with.

As it's a shortbed I will need a sliding hitch but does anyone know what is the maximum weight that I can tow as a 5th Wheel? I'll choose something less than max, just need to know what max is.

Also what experience do others have with towing a 5er - good/bad?

Hi, i have a 05 2500 5.9 cummings and the tranny had a tail shaft with undersized oil holes and the oil flow was inadequate for the overdrive unit! it was modified and i am ok now also the ckeck valve in the cooler line was removed Please pass this inf on as I am not very good on the computer! ciao bl:headbang:apy

With your future mods, you will benefit greatly from both the converter and the VB. I would go straight to a stage 3 VB though. The converter is going to show better results on your ET, but the firmer shifts from the VB will help alot when on spray. If you can afford to do both at the same time, then that is the way to go. Otherwise, I would go with the converter first and the VB second.

how hard will that stage 3 vb shift. I use it as a daily driver. Granted when i am just going to the store I am not pounding on the gas. so how does it shift on a very modest drive foot to gas pedal.

The computer will adjust to your driving style. Even a stage 3 will shift like stock if you drive like a grandma everywhere. To get it shifting hard again, either start running the truck hard or restart the computer.

A stage 3 is still streetable though even if you drive aggresive.

The VB and TC help build the strength of the trany for the future power correct.

The VB will make the trasmission shift much quicker which helps prevent your clutches from slipping under heavy throttle. This will benefit your transmission in the long run. I dont know of many people that have destroyed a factory converter, but replacing it with an aftermarket one is going to show great gains as far as performance goes. The 11" Billet Edge converter is rated up to 600hp, so I dont think you have to worry about blowing that up.
