I have a 2014 Ram. I think it’s a Tradesman package. I’ve been having issues the last few days. When I turn the key to start position, I get no start, no instrument panel lighting up, no electrical at all. I can try several times still nothing until I turn the key FOB all the way back to off then try again and everything works as normal, including starting.
Once this weekend it showed wrong key FOB. This is the original FOB.
What is causing this?

The battery/batteries as far as I know are original in the FOB. The truck battery itself isn’t but a couple of years old.

I'd start with the fob battery. If it still does it after replacing the battery, you may need to check for shorts in the ignition wires.
