I found another source that looks like a legitimate fabricator but there maybe clearance issues with the anti- swaybar

I’ve got a pending inquiry but upon initial investigation the clearance dimensions look hopeful

I’m sorry I meant cast iron like in cast iron pans which are sometimes referred to as grey iron because of their color
not all cast irons are equal in ductility and are less ductile than other plate alloys
yes they are sometimes referred to as nodular iron.

center sections are cast nodular iron. aka ductile iron. is ductility is high and thats why they use it. because often times it gets smashed on rocks or other obstacles

I thought nodular was malleable iron not ductile . it’s more ductile than grey or white it’s used in some brake disks and when heat treated is very hard but can crack in small fissures…

There’s a reason cast engine blocks aged in a field are prized and Dart blocks are made like billet steel.

specifically what grade is hard to say. ive never known anybody that had some differential shavings examined in a lab. unless your welding on the center section, really theres no reason the average joe would care about specifics

that makes sense that they use nickel rods to repair weld cast iron blocks

WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO TEST FIT A PROTOTYPE DIFFERENTIAL COVER FOR OUR MODEL SPECIFIC DIFFERENTIAL?

If someone with RAM with a ZF 12 bolt diff with sway bar that lives near Tucson could let Ballistic Fabrication test fit their rig with Ballistic’s diff cover that would facilitate the progress of this part’s production and expand the resources for our truck and off road parts market.

Can anyone verify if the 9.25 ZF 12 bolt cover uses M8 X 1.25mm bolts ?

I ordered a set of 12 Differential Cover Bolts (60337000) from MOPAR PARTS GIANT
Brought out my thread pitch gauges and thought this will be basically 1.25 metric 8mm
But No


The Flange Bolts are width 5/16” X 18G X Length 1/2”


What is 18G I asked myself
I learned it is a standard G “general grade” is a British “Whitworth 55 degree “ pipe thread which is almost 1.5 pitch metric but has more taper even though it’s referred to as a “Parallel” pipe thread because it only holds a slight taper.
