My tire wrench that came with my ram 1500 bent on my first tire change. Dodge tire changing kits are crap. I had to buy a breaker bar at canadian tire for emergencies. My rear diff also blew at 46,000 kms. Got it back repaired 2 months later under warranty and the rear diff started grinding again on day 3. It sucks because i paid over $500 to tow it to where i was moving after it got repaired. I am at the point where i am going to sell the truck and go to a different brand.first off, mine are almost shot at 29k miles.
my 72 year old dad put the first 28k miles on it.
went out to the local PD range today for qualifying, drove though a mowed grassy field. Sheriff told me an hour later "you got a flat" - yup right front is D-shaped. I always thought it was retarded for them to put craptastic street tires on a 4x4 to begin with. A stick about the diameter of a pencil punctured this one.
And on top of that, the dealer must have put them on with the impact and just held the trigger for a few minutes when they rotated them last - I TWISTED the head of the lug wrench almost 90 degrees trying to break on of the lugs loose.
finally got it broke loose and changed, and got to do a little shooting.
Now the quest for tires is on, just had to vent about the poor choice of rubber by dodge.
