hey all,

Love my newly acquired 2014 crew cab 4x4 sport, but sick of feeling every little bump in the road! Bought the truck used with 60k miles on it so was thinking I should change out the shocks. I have purchased a set of rs9000xls (haven’t installed yet) as I like the versatility of being able to tweak the stiffness. But now I’m wondering if I should just sell them and go all out of a the Carli commuter package. I don’t tow that often and mostly drive poorly kept roads around town.

I’m also going to switch out the stock 20 inch rims for 17s so that may help as well

I hope a lot of people love bilsteins, but I’ve heard they are pretty stiff. Open to suggestions! Thanks!

I had the 9000XLs .I found that by the time you adjusted them soft enough they did not dampen very well. I now have Bilstein 5100s and they are a little stiffer than I care for on the little bumps or rough rough road surface but handle the larger events pretty good . I think they would be OK with the 17's . I normally switch from the 20s to 17s also for a better ride with more sidewall flex. I went with a 35-12.50-20 BFG KO2s with stock 20X9" wheels this time. I regret not switching to 17s on this truck too.
