Sweet deal I found on a tuner

I've been holding back on buying a tuner but want one sooo bad and I think I found one that will make me go through with buying one.

I found a 3815 really close to me for $150, you think I could talk him down? lol

Its damn cheap, but it doesn't do 3865's tranny shifts.

I think I am getting a steal, and I need this because my exhaust drones out with MDS. Either way I will be a happy camper.
Anything tips on what tune I should set it at?

if you caould wait longer when sc release the vivid i fortell a lot of 3865's up for sale. eta is the summer

Not much you can change with it. Definitely turn the mds off. Tires if yours are different than stock and what ever shift points for wot make you happy. Think I had mine set at 5900 and 5850. Oh and rev limiter and speed limiter to max

So the 3815 does change shift points? It is a feature I want as well.

I also read somewhere for around $150 I could trade in my tuner for the vivid. So either way..

It does for wide open but not the up and down shifts for partial throttle like the 3865

Its not a bad deal. If your biggest issue is mds till vivid is released then go for it. When bvd comes out sell it to somebody that has an older truck and no need for the trans options

i'd pass. its not a great deal. $150 or less is what they're worth, especially when vivid comes out. Save the money, live with what you have until vivid comes out and the 3865s start popping up for around 250

I picked this up for $150, and he pretty much drove a long ass ways from his house to my area, not sure why, but he asked me to meet him almost damn near my house. So I saved about $20 of gas.

MDS isn't an exact option for me to select. I programmed it to the 91 or 93 tune(i forgot), I don't really seem to have any MDS kick in now though. Is it just included in the tunes? And holy crap, did it add a ton of power. I changed my speed to 140, doubt Ill ever need it. And I made my rev limiter go to 6000.

Throttle response is much quicker, I can feel the difference. She hauls ass now.

But seriously, is MDS disabling an option and how to I choose it? It's no where to be found.

Wish I could saw it off. Anywho, I just updated the tuner, even though the seller said it was updated it was not. I hope it added a MDS option.

Not lieing, it wasn't their when I tuned my truck. I think its a feature included in the update I just got. I'll let you know soon.

There is only 5 options available in there, previously only 4. The newest one after I updated it was advance spark set.

There is no MDS disabling. I hope it is a possible feature. It'd be sad that if it doesn't.

SC3815 is a good tuner for the 03 model, selling for about $150. IMO, not a good choice for a 06 model. There are still plenty of 03 guys buying them. Good luck..

I found plenty of 06 people using them on sc forum. However I can't get this one feature to work. I can get everything else, except MDS right now. So its gota be possible. I hope.

Currently I don't get MDS mode while in low gears due to the tune and shifting, so I am happy with that.

Using the SC3815 you miss out with the trans tuning. I have never used a 3815 but was told that the 3815 doesn't have the memory needed to run the trans tune. Good luck..
