Yeah I think you can do even 15 or 20% if that is all they have which I know here is getting more and more common. I would try to avoid if you can as it is a better value without ethanol.

$3.29 for 89 E10
$3.60 for 91 no ethanol

If I get

13mpg with 89
16mpg with 91

If I drive 12k miles per year

920 Gallons $3,026
750 Gallons $2,700

I may have to look at using premium. Even if my fuel mileage only goes down by 2mpg the premium is cheaper. Looks like I may have to reconsider using ethanol.

I hope my math is correct.

I have run Mobil 1 for 30 years in everything from Rams to Corvettes to Mercedes-Benz. It was factory fill and recommended on the Vette and the M-B's. Always had great performance and never an engine problem. I do remember that when I first started using Mobil 1 in my '78 Olds 98 after 10k on regular oil, it went through it like water at first. Then after about 1,000 miles or so it settled down and was fine. So, when I put synthetic in after a break-in period I make sure to check the level pretty carefully at first.

The reality is that I am sure any approved oil changed at a decent interval with a good filter will protect for many years. I think we all know that but have our preference because of personal experience.
