Ok I saw another member here paint their engine cover metallic orange and I loved it, so today I'm redoing my R/T red with Hemi Metallic orange with VHT engine metallic.
The first picture is every thing I will use. Kind of worried about the VHT mixing with everything else but we'll see how it goes!

Step 1 scuff all painted parts with scuff pad.

Step 2 clean painted parts

Next clean the painted part with isopropyl

You're not worried that the rad cover is too flexible to hold paint without cracking?

Next clean unpainted with isopropyl

After everything has been cleaned with the isopropyl, spray everything down with the adhesion promoter.
I like to give everything 2 heavy coats, you don't have to worry about this stuff running.

Let me retract that last statement you can apply very heavy just don't over do it...

Next tape off anything that's not getting the new paint.

The rad cover will be the only thing getting primer today, so next use plastic primer, light coats until it's fully covered

A couple more and we should be ready for color.

I am by no means a pro painter but I do know it's all about your prep, take your time and you should be good to go!

Thought I would go head and shoot a coat while the primer dried. This is my second ever metallic paint job, it seems to lay down better a little further away than regular color does.

Better coverage this time on the rad cover. Engine cover and Vararam cover will get 1 more and then they are ready for clear.
