Ordering the 10th anniversary Longhorn with an EcoDiesel. Is it worth getting the 33gal tank or just stick with the 23gal tank?

bigger if given a choice when it comes to fuel tank size. I wish the PW offered a 40 gallon tank.

I hate stopping for fuel, don't really see any reason not to get the bigger tank?

It's not a big deal with the ecodiesel. You should have a range of nearly 600 miles with that tank size (highway). If I could do it over I'd insist on a 33 gallon tank though. I hate stopping for fuel.

******** only 445 bux i wish I got the bigger tank for my 2020 eco as well.

But the 1100 km range for the smaller tank is pretty good thats about 683 miles and I get about that every time. The smaller tank is cheaper to fill though only perk I guess lol.

get the bigger. I have it on mine with the 5.7 and it's nice to see 650 mile range or more after a fill up..

Bigger if towing, if not, the range on the eco is still good with the small.

true. I wanted the extra fuel for the occasional towing I do. pulling my 6000# travel trailer I get 8.5-10 mpg depending on the terrain so nice to have the extra.

Depends...how old are you? Does it come with surgery for a bigger bladder? At my age, assuming 10 mpg towing with a 23 gallon tank works well as that's a litte more than 200 miles which is about my limit before I have to pull over for a bio break.

We don't get as far as the tank does for mileage but around here in Michigan fuel prices can fluctuate over quite a range. The extra capacity lets me drive until the prices go down. Not sure it will save me the $445 that I paid for it but bigger is always better.

Newbe here. I just ordered a 2021 1500 Bighorn with the 3.0 Ecodiesel. I tow a 6000 pound travel trailer long distance, so I really wanted the 33 gallon tank. The sales manager could not order one. He checked twice. Three times. It simply was not an allowed option combination. We tried to do it on every trim level. When he added the tank, the system forced him to choose a different engine. He couldn't recall seeing one. He asked the service manager, who couldn't remember seeing one either. Service guy thinks its the DEF tank is in the way. I'd be really really interested to hear if anyone here has a 33 gallon tank and the 3.0 Ecodiesel on the Ram 1500.

Thanks

Really PO's me that it's even an option. That's just another way for the manufacturer to nickel and dime you to death. They should put the biggest tank the vehicle can hold, done!
