You cant hear the noises that tell you of the coming calamity.

I felt it in the pedal 3 days prior, so i ordered the parts for a pad and rotor change. Thankfully the caliper exploded just as i was parking at work. The inner pad was so worn that it got jammed between the caliper bracket and the rotor.

Shes stranded at work until thursday but its a good excuse as any to ride the motorcycle.

Fiy, the same pad and rotor kit i got from rockauto for $77 is $270 from autozone and the replacement caliper, new is only $65. You have to wait for shipping but its worth the discount

That's crazy, good thing it ended ok.

I remember running my breaks down bad a few times when I was younger but realized it's alot cheaper and safer to check on things more regular then I use too.

Anyways least u get some new breaking power soon.

I did breaks 10,000km ago but want power stop stuff when input new wheels on so going to be making change.

Do you not install the wear indicators on your pads when you change them out? You should have had plenty of notification that these brakes were going out.

Im obviously glad you are ok. But good lord you need to notice sooner next time!

Looks more like the downside of riding on paper thin brakes to me.
Really, you mean you couldn't feel them grinding? WTF!
I have side exit exhaust on the passenger side, has a nice deep rumble that sets off rice burners alarms every time I park next to one and start it up!
Quit funny, actually.
