This might be stupid, but I'm gonna ask anyway...

So given my new venture into bastardizing my '95 Toyota into a drag queen, I'm looking for a good forum to join to pick other like-minded brains. I don't suppose anyone on this forum knows a good Toyota forum? I've Googled, but haven't found many with much apparent traffic.

I belong to the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma Forums. I'm not sure exactly what truck you have but there's good info on there. I had a Supercharged Rock Warrior that I got lots of info off the Tundra site. There's a couple guys over there running in the 11's in the quarter with just a few mods.

Do you have a link to which forum? I've joined two and haven't gotten a single reply. I'm ok with no replies if nobody has input, but usually it's good to see that people are at least looking at your post. I'm not even getting that. It's like I've hit the graveyard of forums.

They can bash all they want, I'm not going to be shy about the fact that I'm building an abomination with one goal in mind... straight line speed. Sorry, but a 22RE isn't gonna get me there.

Yes, I tried Google. Seems most of the Toyota following is 4WD, not drag racing tiny trucks. I was actually surprised with that. The dang things are so light, they're the perfect platform to start with.

And I'll say because I don't want to deal with a 4 foot wide DOHC POS. Gimme a pushrod V8 made by Toyota and I'll be happy to put it in, like one of the ones they run in NASCAR. (I've always wondered how Toyota got away with that crap. I thought they had to have any NASCAR engine/car in production in a certain amount in order to run it in a race).

I can save you looking at the Tundra and Tacoma site if you're looking at building a 22RE. I've never seen anything in regards to that engine but there's ****loads of info on the 5.7 supercharged. Here's the site, be sure to look over the performance section. What are you looking to build?

The below black beast could hit 60mph in around 3 seconds in 4 wheel drive. I have the video but this site won't let me post it. The stock supercharger is good for 505hp and 550ft/lb fully warranted through Toyota. A change of the small pulley and things start getting ugly. Some were getting well over 600 hp with minor modifications.

I traded the black supercharged off on a Pro and then a modified Ram

there's no way Nascar can do the "you must make 500 of this or that" as far as I know that went out the door way back in the early to mid 80"s. Luckily I quit watching Nascar back in 1988 when they went to fwd'ers and this is supposed to be """stock car racing""" yeah right NO THANKS.:favorites13:

I'm not interested in the Toyota V8. I'm going American muscle.

Yeah, I can understand the fact that nobody really makes a rwd car worth a **** to race in NASCAR, and I'm not a NASCAR fanatic by any means, but Toyota is the only one that I know of that runs in NASCAR and doesn't have a production pushrod V8. I think that's BS.

FWIW, the only NASCAR race I like to watch is Talledega because they always have badass wrecks.

I was a member on tundratalk.net when I had my Tundra. Cool dudes over there, but there's definitely a small group of Toyota fan boys that destroyed me for switching over to a Ram. Go head over there and see what ya think.

I saw a Suzuki Samuri running a heavily modified Cummins that was more than impressive. A man can make huge HP/torque gains with a Cummins set up easier than a gas engine.
