So I acquired this 2019 Laramie 4x4 by chance.

It has nearly new BFG AT/KO, but for my intended and planned use (long distance traveling), they are not ideal (typical noisey LT with poor road manors and stiff ride).

I know guys run through tires and there is usually a brand and/or style that is preferred. What is that on the Rams?

Asking an opinion on tires like Oil and Filter opinion , geez.

For me I run Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. Very low noise and excellent road traction in all weather. I need the traction specifically for going in fields ref hay, horse, and
traction for the occasional ice storm, monster rain storms.

New tire on truck.jpgNew tires left side truck.jpgand such.

Others will chime in:
You gonna hear Michelin LTX, Cooper Discovers, Toyo AT tires, to name a few.

I have had Michelin LTX's and Pirelli Scorpions. Between the two, the Perillis started quieter, and offer much better handling (less sidewall squish) than the LTX's.

But I'm not (and was not) 100% happy with either - but I might be being a bit too critical of highway truck tires.

I have AT3W on my 90 W250...definitely do not need anything aggressive or I'd keep the BFG.

I have a set of Michelin LTX M/S on my Silverado (in an E-rated LT series) and a set of Defender (which aren't available in the Ram's size) on my Wife's Equinox. Unfortunately, I like the Defender but not the LTX.

I've had Pirelli before and liked them, I have been looking at them pretty hard.

Lol, if that's aggressive to you then that means you are looking for a highway tire. At that point, buy from a reputable company and you'll be fine, hard to screw that up.

Running Cooper Discoverer AT3s on our 2019 Classic. Had a set on my 2012 RCSB too. Excellent tire. Quiet, comfortable, solid traction on pavement and off without being super aggressive, and at a great price.

Did I not state that in the first post?
95% of people asking about tires here are asking either for A/Ts or M/Ts. You had mentioned long distance travel but I had assumed you were still looking for some sort of A/T pattern. Like I said, highway tires are pretty straight forward so I'm surprised you're asking.

I ran Cooper discoverers for years. Last fall I thought I would give Generals a try. I bought a set of 3 peak rated Grabber A/TX Lt tires and could not be happier. I tow in the mountains and places I would sometimes have to chain up at with the Coopers. I didn't with the Generals

Just a couple of months ago I put on a set of Michelin CrossClimate 2 All Weather tires on my 2020 Longhorn ... They carry the 3 peak-snowflake designations ... Like you I do mostly highway driving I found these Michelin's were quieter and more comfortable than the Goodyear Eagle Touring they replaced ... I see you're in Pennsylvania so you obviously get some snow and these Michelin's will help you out with that type of weather as well ...

Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires for my summer set up.

Excellent warranty support
Great long wear characteristics
Fantastic on wet roads and in heavy rain
Quiet, stable, predictable control
Very little weight needed to balance them out (ensure you get a road force balancing, too)

Blizzak DM-V2's for my winters here in Ontario.
Unfortunate I can't used studded where I am.

I remember leaving Dec 13th from BC to head back to Ontario in the mid-90's in my 77' Granada 2-dr coupe...lol
Rogers Pass at night in a blinding snowstorm with rigs up my a_z-z... was quite the drive.... that's some real winter driving weather to contend with.

Then is SK at night on the same drive back to ON...was like being in the Millennium Falcon doing the Kessel Run in 12-parsecs..... :headbang:
Snow blindness is a real challenge to keep it together!!!

So far my Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 are incredible. Best tires I ever put on any of my trucks. Quiet, good ride and traction.
I’m with you on these tires , 80,000kms and only half worn. I rotate every 10,000kms.

I'm on my third set of Goodyear 275 65 R18 Wrangler Fortitudes that came as a factory tire. My preference for this tire is exceptional quietness, low rolling resistance, and very good ride and handling. I've managed to get 60K plus out of the first two sets each, which is better than any previous tire I've had before. These also seem to wear evenly.

Far from the best in deep snow, however, which is why I run snow tires in the winter.

Dusty

The bfg ats are actually decent in the mud and probably the best at for snow and when inflated to door sticker pressure ride decent so hardly worth swapping for another at like the cooper or toyo at3 etc simce they won't be any better and you already own a set.The michelin atx are a fairly long wearing tire that's more of an all season and pretty popular amomgst the members so worth a look.
