Hi all,

Before I explain my situation in the forum, I did use the search function w/o any luck.

I have a 2012 5.7 Sport Quad cab w/ the Mopar CAI. When jump on the throttle (all the way to the floor) the truck accelerates OK and as I get about 2/3 of the way to red line, it sounds like the throttle finally opened up the rest of the way as if the gas wasn't pressed down fully at first.

Its really noticeable with the CAI as the intake noise is rather loud.

The other thing that I noticed recently while pulling my 27' trailer, is that on a slight grade going up, with my foot steady on the gas and the cruise OFF, the truck sounds like it is surging as I can hear the intake noise changing like I am on and off the throttle somewhat.

thanks
Steve A.

I do not have any lights or codes showing. Any Ideas?

im pretty sure thats the VVT and active intake at work. It feels like an extra boost over 3-4000 rpm

Mine is the exact same way. What gears do you have? I never really noticed it with my R/T but this truck with 3.55, it's really noticeable

yeah its the VVT and such and the torque curve. one thing i dont like is the transmission shifts around 50 MPH and drops the engine about 700 RPM out of this VVT range so there is a slight delay in the power when ********.

so i have come to believe
