I'm running a 2014 ram sport with a 4" lift and 275/65R20 Falken WildPeak A/Ts and I got them deflated a bit yesterday as they had about 50PSI in each. The tires max is 80Psi and Kal tire dropped me down to 35.
35Psi is Fairly normal in a half ton but I noticed this morning probably since we adjusted the psi while they were a bit warm that I'm down to 31psi and my trucks telling me to fill them up to 39 Psi.

Should I fill them back to 35, or should I be doing 39 like my cluster tells me? (I know the cluster is set for the factory tires)

The best thing to do is inflate your tires to what the tire manufacturer recommends. That will get you the best performance and life out of them.

However, do not use the max pressure on the side of the tire. That is unless you really want it to blow out on you.

The tire shop I worked at always inflated to factory spec on the door jam, however I would contact Falken and ask them their opinion based on your setup since it is off of OEM.

Unless loaded, use the pressures on the door jambs. It's the pressure recommended for the best mileage/handling balance.

Your tire won't blow out if you use the max pressure on the sidewalk, (if the tires are in good shape). That said, the extra pressure will make the ride rougher and put extra wear on the suspension parts of the truck.

The door jam only applies if you use a tire of exact size and rating. If you move to LT tires for example from a P series then you really should not go by the door It can't possibly know you changed tires. Inflating to max would likely never cause a blowout unless weather checked under inflation is way more of an issue for blowout.

True. I was assuming the tires were the same size/load rating.

The recommended is on the door jamb, but as stated above, if you vary from oem size it's not valid. I personally adjust then check it. Oem tires have a max psi of 44 and they recommend 39, well lt tires have maxes that vary (50,65 or 80 generally). Mine have a max of 65 and I run them at 50 and the ride is still good and they also don't flex too much when loading the truck heavy. Those of you running 39 or so in an 80 psi tire only have half of what that tire is rated for at that low psi. If at 80 it's rated for 3000 it will only be good for 1500 at 40. Something to keep in mind.
