Hey everyone, I have a 2012 Ram Crew cab with the 20" wheels. I've reached the point where the stock rubber is needing replacement. Just wondering if anyone has some recommendations in tires?

My driving is probably 80% highway and 20% city. Rarely do any off roading. I do tow a 21' travel trailer. Its pretty light, 4000 lbs when fully loaded. I don't tow it to far, usually within a 20 mile radius or so but often. I live in Indiana so there is snow and ice to contend with.

I'm looking for a tire that at least has a 60k warrenty. I'm torn between choosing something that looks good or something that's bland. I beleive a nice set of good looking agressive tires like an all teraine can make the truck look good. I've been looking at everything from Michelin Defender ltx m/s to BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2. Just really can't decide. So I'm looking for some input.

I'll most likely be ordering from discount tire. As I've got a voucher to save a little cash from them and there are a few stores local to me.

I'm a big fan of General. I am still on the OEM Goodyears on my truck but have the previous version of the HTS on our full sized van. They are just a good value high-quality tire.

On 20" idk how it'll look

But I like my general grabber at2's. All around good tread pattern. It handled lake effect snow blizzards last year, definitely helped pulling stuck vehicles out. Including a semi stuck in an iced over dry dock.

I swear by Goodyear Duratracs...I put 60,000 km on mine then traded my truck in and they still had lots of tread. Good all around tire, look awesome and great in snow.
My second choice would definitely be the General Grabber AT2's

Michelin Defender LTX M/S.

Pretty much same formula or compound as the Michelin LTX M/S, that I ran for over 15 yrs on my 1999 3/4 ton, but they added silica for better ice traction.

Wife has a set of Defenders, on her minivan that are 4 yrs old, still look like new and get around great, in Iowa. Imagine I will get another 3-4 yrs out of them but will replace in a year or so, due to age. No cracks or checks, yet, but it;s the wife and want no headaches from her about a tire blowing out.

Picked up a set for the kids Buick, that will probably out last the car but, again, wanted zero worries about a tire blowing out. Not eh cheapest but cheaper than a deductable and corresponding higher insurance rates, not to mention a hurt wife or kid cause I was too cheap to get quality.l

that's why you pay the price.
Once.

Get quality the first time and forget about it.
Not a hell of a lot of stuff still like that but Michelin tires are one of them.

Just put these on last week, Falken AT3W. More than happy so far with the ride. They make the truck look WAY better even in stock size. The price was good too from Discount Tire.

Dedicated winter and summers. Skip all season and all terrain in my opinion. Though I'm Albertan :)

Summers the Goodyear forteras have been good for me. Loosing grip on the rears for some weird reason though!

Winters I'm using oem rubber til they're worn out, then getting good winters. Was thinking Dunlop actually. Perhaps Blizzaks.

I'm a Falken and kumho fan as on my previous mustangs (price and performance) but never tried either in winter versions as the stangs never see snow. Winters have been cheapo tires on winter beater vehicles and haven't had to use good winters on a good vehicle yet. Even cheap winters blow away the best all season all weather ********.

Had all terrain cooper Zeons on last truck. They were actually good in winter snow terrible on ice though. All terrains wear too quickly and are soft and noisy. Dunno why I went that route on last truck versus the dedicated seasonal tires.

I can make dedicated summer and winters last for probably 6-7 years based on my mileage usage. Truck only sees 8-9000 kms year if that.

FWIW everyone I know loves GY Duratracs...as reinforced by above opinions as well.

I have a set of Cooper Discoverer Rtx on mine, great grip in the wet and very quiet. NTB has a buy 2 get 2 so was like a no brainer for me.

I will either go Toyo AT2 again or BFG KO2.

Had the Toyo on my last truck and they were awesome. Just looking at BFG for the more aggressive look.

Got the Michelin AT2 tires on now when I bought the truck (60% tread used tires). Great tires in dry and wet conditions, but terrible in any sort of snow, can't recommend them. They are coming off Friday and getting replaced with new Hankook Dynapro ATm tires. Been buying those tires for several years now for our vehicles, and except for the short span where they tried to go to China manufacture, have been great in all conditions, including a few feet of snow.
