Looking on increasing the size of tires on my 3500 dually. Just wanted to get a larger looking tire to fill the spaces. Is there any advantages to going a little larger and if so, what size?

when you up sizes, you would want to stay with the same diameter, so you would only add width.

The reason why, it changes your speedometer when it goes up in diameter. 3% is the recommended difference that is allowed max.

For example, if I went from a 245/70/17, I could go up to a 265/65/17. The diameter is real close, but I've added only width. Also, I need to make sure the width would fit, which it should, because the 20's have a 275 width if I am not mistaken.

The other negative with increasing the actual size of tire, say from 17" to 20" or whatever, you seem to lose in tire load rating.

I disagree with loosing load rating. You can actually go up in rating with the correct tire by manufacturer. I’m yawing a 35-12.5/20 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 weight rating is 3195# E rated 10ply

Rim size doesn’t matter that only affects the sidewall height and a little stiffer ride

I went with the Terra Grappler G2’s as well, 37” with 65psi max and E rated sidewall. Put 2100# in the bed and they don’t look stressed at all.

The OE Wrangler SRA's are horrible when it comes to loads and being squishy and/or body sway around corners......for tires the big three that get serious consideration are:

Dueler HL Alenza Plus
G2's
KO2's
