I went to Michelin LTX AT2s when I wanted a load range E tire towing our 5000lb travel trailer. We live on a dirt/mud road and these tires do great in mud, snow and highway. The Michelin Defenders are great too if you do mostly highway or paved streets and they are a bit quieter and slightly better on mpg. Remember, these are heavy tires but they do ride well and really feel good towing a trailer.

Hi I'm going to make it simple my last set of tires where Michelin MS I had mixed result in that one tire failed defective sidewall anyway and 6 years , 70% towing 7200 lb trailer
My choices are from Costco , 20 inch; Please way in comment on these tires
if you have a preferred choice and thank you .

Pirelli - SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON PLUS II
Michelin - Defender LTX M/S
Bridgestone - DUELER H/L ALENZA PLUS

If those are your 3 choices, the Michelin is the only one I would use for constant towing.

I would also be looking at an LT tire if I was running loaded/towing all the time.

Costco tire prices are easily beaten by private shops in Ontario, not sure if it’s the same where you are.

Don't know but I will get a quote from local tire shop. I have not been a fan of Costco lately with all BS protocol that keeps you waiting in line. Now I think there are other shop like Big O tire and Kal Tire out here, and you don't need to stand in line like a dumb axx and you actually get service right away.

I just picked up my snow tires from a local warehouse, 1 hoist, 1 man, PayPal only shop. 5th set of tires I have bought there (2 Sets of General AT2, 1 set of BFG T/A sport, 2 sets of Yokohama ice guards). What I mean is no offbrand/noname junk.

You are looking at a premium tire in the Michelin Defender LTX, so it don’t be too surprised if there isn’t too much flex on the price, but the service will be so much better than at Costco

Michelin out of those 3 from the reviews i have read. Have personally had them on a work truck they were pretty good for what we needed out of them.

Personally i like nitto and cooper all comes down to preference in what you like and if it does what you need it to do. Currently running ridge grapplers on the HD and on the half ton was running the cooper at3. both have done well in highway wet weather which i see a lot of myself. Best to read all the reviews on several sites as most post what they are mounted on and location of reviewer which will give you a decent idea if its going to work for you or not.

The Michelin Defender LTX M+S is always the answer for any tire question that doesn't specifically call for severe off-road use, a "tough" cosmetic appearance for vanity's sake or a dedicated winter tire.

But I should add that the normal LTX does not carry the 3-peak mountain/snowflake emblem that's supposed to indicate particularly good snow performance (for an all season) - they do make a dedicated winter version of the LTX as well but it is not an all season, it's a dedicated winter tire that happens to look exactly the same.

I don't think any of the 3 tires you asked about are "snowflake" rated. I don't know if that is any consideration to you but since you linked to costo.ca I'm assuming you live up North and see a bit of the slippery stuff this time of year.

Thanks all for weighing into tire selection just had The Michelin Defender LTX M+S mounted yesterday and WOW what a difference. The truck now has become a pick-up -rock! Great ride very stable yet supple. My old Michelin's were of the previous generation 6 plus years old.

Lived my Michelin defender LTX M/S. So quiet, ride great. Mine were load E, a bit much for my 1500 abd the stiffness showed at anything over 30 psi. Aired appropriately they were incredible.

I will add, they just didn't do so great in the snow and ice I got on my property in Pennsylvania. I've had to switch to A/T's for that. My driveway is about a half mile, not paved and is a bit of an up hill to get into. Some of the rain and snow can cause a problem if I'm not home in time to plow before it gets bad. The Defenders got me through it every time. Just, got pretty hairy once lol
