I just purchased a 2020 ram with the nexan tires and would like to replace with all terrain
How many people switch out new tires or run them a while first
Also what is everyone’s running on all terrain

Don’t go with Goodyear. I have under 15k miles on them. Chunks of tread are starting to come off and the sidewalls are starting to crack. When I took it to America’s Tire in Palm Springs, the tech pulled out the comparison card GY sent to them and explained that they will not warranty the tire unless you can stick the head of a pen in there. It’s a known issue with Goodyear and Michelin’s and neither company will warranty them unless it’s an extreme case. Even the tech said he steers truck and SUV owners away from GY for this very reason.

My next set is likely to be Bridgestone unless I lift the truck, then probably Nitto or Bridgestone. I had the BS Dueler H/L from Costco on my ‘13 with zero issues.

Tires highly debated. But it really depends on what you are wanting to tire to do. Are you looking for something with a stiffer side wall to haul and tow with? If so then you should step up to a D/E tire rated for 65 psi something like the BFG 2ko is great they make a 8ply tire in oem size. Now if you just want slightly more aggressive and dont care about the stiff sidewall go with something in the xl rating they will be a little lighter than the D/E tires. Nitto makes several good AT tires like the ridge grappler and the terra grappler g2 in the lighter xl version should be 44 ish psi max. As far as swapping new tires right away maybe check with your local tire shop he may be willing to to a little trading to help offset the cost of the new ones.

I have the Cooper at3 XLT in 285/65/20 on my 2019 1500 and have really been impressed with the tires. They are quiet and are wearing even and very slow. In saying that, I have heard good things about the Terra Grapplers and being as I dont need an LT tire and they are the only AT P rated tire in that size range, I may give them a try and see if it positively affects by gas mileage over the heavy LT's on there now.

You can also get the ridge grappler if you want more aggressive in the 275 55r20 with the xl rating. They are 47lbs vs the Goodyear's at 39lbs. Not great but better than the 50s most LT are.

The terra grapplers are 43lbs in the xl rating.

I just got Toyo AT3, onlu had about 4k on stock tires but know how bad they are in snow from last Ram so replaced them right away.

Got stock size 286/45/R22, havent noticed any rubbing yet and will test in snow soon enough living in ND20201106_163233.jpg

I wish I could say I run stock tires till they are worn out but I don’t think I ever have. I usually go mud terrain though. A real nice mix between at and mt is Nitto ridge grappler

Love my Ridge Grapplers. Put them on with 10K on the clock. So far so good. Little stiff but it’s all good.

On my '15 I ran the stock tires until I got the ones I wanted installed. Sold the OEMs to an employee with a RAM.

On my '20 I sent my winters to the dealer and had them installed before I took delivery. Sold the OEMs less than 24 hours after delivery/posting.
