I have a 2012 Ram w/ 5.7 180,000 miles. It’s showing all the signs of a failed lifter on cylinder 5. I’m planning the replace the Lifters and cam with oem parts and the oil pump with Melling 10452hv. What I’m trying to decide is, does it make more sense to pull the engine to preform the task or, keep it in place and disconnect the front diff? And remove the cross brace? This is my first time tackling a project this in depth on a truck. Motorcycle well that’s a different story.
