Howdy folks!

Interested to see if anyone can steer me in the right direction.

I recently bought a 2018 RAM 1500 Ecpdiesel.

Long story short: I believe I may have caused a malfunction at my 7-way plug harness after attempting to T-splice into the fuse box at the 15amp fuse for the trailer lights, for an air compressor.

I've tried replacing the fuse and checking grounds. But my RIGHT turn signal, only, at the plug isnt getting any power.

Anyone have any ideas? Should i cut the fuse line and splice it back together to get rid of the tiny hole that qas created in the line?? I'm kinda lost and would rather not have to take it to a dealership and pay a deductible for "warranty" work to handle the fix.

Thanks for any response.

There are actually several fuses for the trailer lights, which one did you tap into?

F28 - 20 Amp - Yellow Trailer Tow Backup Lights
F29 - 20 Amp - Yellow Trailer Tow Parking Lights
F30 - 30 Amp - Pink Trailer Tow Receptacle
F53 - 20 Amp - Yellow Trailer Tow – Left Turn/Stop Lights
F81 - 20 Amp - Yellow Trailer Tow - Right Turn/Stop Lights

Bingo! It was the 20amp fuse that blew. I tapped into fuse #51 which isna 15amp fuse. So maybe it was just a coincidence...?

Thank you sir!

You're welcome. Something might have shorted while you were in there. Or it could have been blown when you bought it.

One thing though: 51 on mine is:

F51 - 10 Amp Red - Ignition Node Module / Keyless Ignition

I checked the 2018 Owner's Manual as well and it lists the same. I'm not sure why yours had a 15 amp fuse there. You might want to check that someone hasn't been playing around. I also would not run a compressor on that circuit.

Ah, that one is unused on a 1500 unless you have the factory AC inverter, in which case a single LED drawing about .01 amp is connected to it. :)
