Other day ran to the store, truck ran fine. Left the store and truck started just slamming through gears, hard enough to shake the truck. With my foot all the way to the floor, couldn't get over 2500 rpm. Got home, thinking aww **** guess I'm getting my first big repair bill. Had to run back out a few minutes later and this time everything was fine, shifting was smooth as it should be, engine rev'd no problem. It was like nothing had ever happened. That was a little over a week ago and the truck has been fine since. My wife wanted me to take it and get it checked but I said no point wasting the diagnostic fee if it's not still acting up just to get the cannot reproduce that seems to be standard in most cases.

Just curious if anyone has seen anything like this or has any idea what might have happened. With all the computer controlled stuff, my best guess at the time was truck booted with a fault and went into limp mode. Shut down and restarted cleared the fault and everything went back to normal but I don't truly know enough to be certain there's nothing to worry about.

2015 6.4l w/ 6 speed auto, ~64500 miles.

The first thing to do is check the fluid level. If that's good, then it could just be a fluke.
