I received an email from Uconnect in reference to a NAV update for my 2017 Ram. The cost is $149.00 and they mail the update to you to download into the NAV system.

Anyone else do this update? Is it worth it?

Any issues?

Thanks in advance,

Hawkman :smoke2:

Sounds like an update for the map data. Your call if you really want it or not.

If a lot of streets/highways havent changed in your area, probably not worth the $$$.

I live in an area of SC with a lot of new construction. In fact our house was a new build this year and our street wasn't listed in GOOGLE or even the county map site for over 8 months after we moved in.

In that case it *might* be worth it.

I have a factory nav head unit from a late 2017 RAM 1500 and it already had data for a highway ramp change that happened only about 2 years ago, so it was pretty accurate for my area. And overall in my area, people have already build houses wherever there is open land, so there aint much changing around me!

Don't count on anything that new being in the map update, they always lag behind real time maps like Google etc. If it's not in Google no way it will be in the uconnect map update. They can't just upload the new road to a data base daily like google can. They have to compile all the updates into a "release" which they probably only do once every year or couple of years from what I have seen.

Bottom line, don't expect the update to be the latest and greatest and since they don't publish the release version data I have no idea were they are at now and when the latest update was released.

They offer the map update a couple of times a year for $99.00. I would wait for that.
