under coating question

i have talked to two local guys that do under coating and need your help deciding which is best.

my truck is new i drove it off the lot last friday and it had 50 miles on it so i want to make sure i get the best quality under coating possible and get it done right the first time.

to local guys do this the one guy told me today his undercoating is a waxy parafin type undercoating, it will not hose off wont wipe off but if wd40 or any type of solvent like mineral spirits gets on it that will soften it up and take if off he wants 100 bucks to do my truck.

the next guy does a ruberized type undercoating and he charges 450, now i know you get what you pay for but i have been reading alot of bad stuff about the rubber type undercoating

so its up to you all with the experiance... the guy that does it for 100 bucks sounds vary up front and said i can eve hang around and watch him do all the work he said " i have nothing to hide what so ever" the guy that wants 450 said i have to leave my truck with him for a few days now i dont think thats shady but i do have to go to work like every one else lol

i dont know much about undercoating, but i dont think i would like a waxy type coating, doesnt sound durable at all.
i would go with a bedliner type product if it were me.

Dave aka RamHunter used bedliner as an undercoating. id go that route also. durable and cheap. an easy DIY. could probably be done in a couple of hours.

I would do it yourself and get some bed liner, but DO NOT USE Duplicolor or the cheap bed liners!

how am i gonna fit a spray can and my goofy ass under the truck to spray it... i dont have a car lift

i agree that having to leave it for a couple days to get the rubberized undercoat sounds odd. If you were to do it yourself you could jack the truck up and put it on jack stands

Dave used Herculiner and I love how it turned out which is how I'm going to do mine, just some food for thought

my next question is this... if i where to do some sort of bed liner type coating, whats to say it wont crack, peal and then the salt get inside and do more damage then usual ?

I did do a little research on the wax type stuff and from what i read it dont seem so bad, but also after doing research iam so nervy now i kinda feel like just leaving it alone and hitting the car wash once a month is a safer bet

well so far for the price iam leaning tword that wax stuff.. how ever noxudol keeps poping up every where i search even on youtube....
