Have had a nagging, consistent slight burning of oil for a couple years. I put up with it as long as I could, chalking it up to a 360ci engine with 115,000 miles on it, mostly local miles.
Well...
Got advice from the right guy. He suggested valve stem seal replacement. IT WAS THE CURE.
I get absolutely no blue smoke on start-up anymore, nor soot deposit on the snow behind my exhaust when I warm it prior to use.
And of course I'd swear it "runs better". Probably not measurable, but it's great peace-of-mind.
Love this truck, and intend to keep it.
