Hey im looking to get an intake kit soon for my 05 ram 5.7, I.was originally gonna go with the volant cold air kit with the optional upper scoop to connect with my factory hood scoop. But I started looking at the vararam ram air hemi kit with the see through top. I seen some people say that the vararam has cheap parts nd ends up with air leaks, it's super bad ass tho. Has anyone had experience with either and what's the power/performance gains? Thanks

Welcome bud. I wanna say the Daytona's have the blocked intake in hood but you can remove that for the open srt insert.

We have a killer deal going on with the Vararams and running a deal where it gets you some $$$ off a ported TB

Vararam Hemi Under Glass Intake 03-08 Dodge Ram 5.7L Hemi

Both kits are good just depends on the over all look you want.

Thanks! Yeah I was just gonna remove the plate blocking the scoop, would I have to get an insert to connect with the volant upper intake? Or just fab something up to make em mate up?

Let me see if I can find the mount instructions for the Volant hood style. The Var has the two main lines at the bottom above the lic plate. What color Daytona do you have? Seen some slick Vararams color matched to the truck for a POP.

the vararam is nice, solid gains, But ......no good if you go through a lot of water though and the quality of the product is less than desirable.

I got the burnt orange, gomango I think its called, thats one reason I liked the vararam cause the pics of seen they look pretty close to my color. yeah I do tend to do a bit of offroadin, so maybe bumper mounted air intake isn't the best idea

I also bought the vararam because I like the orange lid so much. I also like everything I've heard about it around the forum, and the gains in power it's supposed to give.
