well first off....5.9 CTD kick ASS! there are 3 in my family...03 long box single wheel, 04 long box dual wheel, and my 07 mega cab they all run amazing! the 03 has 260000km on it and still runs strong!

whats differences in the early 04 vs 04.5?

early 04 is a 305 hp/555 tq motor...which is REALLY wanted by the high hp guys cuz it only has two injection events instead of three....that helps a lot when you go over about 500 hp
