I'm going to replace my stock halogen headlights this weekend with Recon projectors with LED's. While I have the grill removed, I'm also going to replace the "RAM" letters on my grill with illuminated LED letters. I want to have the grill letters to come on when the headlights are on. I'd like to tap into the parking light wire to trigger a relay for the grill letters. Does anyone know what wire I would need to tap into? Or another way to power them only when the headlights are on? Thanks in advance!

NJ4x4,
Just wondering, may I ask where you can obtain "illuminated RAM letters" for the front of your grill?

Rec'd this as a Christmas gift.... finally going to install it.

These are on Amazon. The letters and wiring feel like a quality product and have a perfect gloss black finish which will match my truck. Who knows how long the LED's will work. Time will tell.

Hi there.....came across this post as I am looking at the same type of product. As this was posted a year ago, can you update on how this turned out and whether the LED emblem is still functional? Maybe some pics?

One year later, I still love the LED grille emblem! They work perfectly and still look just like the day I installed them. I decided not to run them all them time and now I use the wireless remote from inside the truck to toggle them on and change colors, though the blue tones seem to be my favorite. Pulling the grille off is no fun, but I was installing new headlights that day too, so I was already taking it off. After removing the OEM RAM letters I had to drill three holes with a step bit to get the wiring/connectors through to the back side, see pic below. Was super easy and the holes are behind the letters and will never be seen. It might be possible to install w/o removing the grill....but having the grill off made it easier. Let me know if you do it!

They look amazing! Great job. So I'm assuming because you're using the remote, that you just went straight to the battery? I was thinking of getting a $50 parking light harness. Do you have to use the remote or can you have them power on with the lights

I bought the harness and it said it would only handle 2 amps (I think). The emblem must draw more than that and immediately caused havoc with my new headlights. I could have wired the harness to a relay as a trigger and I'm sure it would have worked. But I just ended up wiring to the battery and using the remote. Works fine!

I now only use the remote when I want them on.
