Wanting to install the oem integrated trailer brake controller on my 2009 1500, but I don't have the 2 connectors taped to the harness that are supposed to go to the controller. Instead I have a large blue 4 prong connector and a smaller green one stuffed behind it. What do I need to do to make this work? I have alfaobd if anything needs to be activated.

Also, assuming it can be made to work. I have my eye on this controller on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/314916357577
It's not listed as being for my year/model, will it still work or are they different between 1500 and 2500?

This video should help with the wiring

You really do not need to activate it, in the 09-12 years, it doesn't really do anything for you, just makes the ITBM visible in the EVIC and what it is set at, same as the display on the ITBM, you can't adjust it with the steering wheel controls, still have to adjust it manually. It will work fine without the flash.

Waking up a sleeping thread here but someone may need to read this...

I have to disagree with you, Jawzs... I installed the ITBM on my 2012 2500 CTD and the manual brake slider worked fine right off the bat but I did not get "integrated" breaking until I had my dealer flash the computer. YMMV but that's my experience with DIY brake controller installation...

Thanks - that's interesting, I used the one i put in my 2010 without issues for about a year before I had it flashed. I had the dealer do it at the same time I had the flash done for the backup camera I installed. Wonder if 2012 is different?

The oem controller for 9 to 12 is different than the 13 up and uses a different connection and location for mounting. Suggest you review photos and other materials it's an easy installation and does require some activity to make it work integrated with the dash
