Does anyone else have the Haynes 30042 book? Page 1-3 says RC12MCC4 for the 4.7 spark plug at .040.
Last night I was changing the plugs and noticed there are 16 plugs, not 8. While I was doing that I checked in the owners book and seen that there are two recommended plugs, one for upper and then lower banks and two different gap settings. Now I will say that the owners manual for the truck didn't come with it and the one I have was sourced at a parts yard so maybe I have the wrong book.

Also I wanna complain about the ignition coil boots and how they tear right in two for like no reason.
I pulled two plugs last night and the boots broke on both of them so I aborted what I was doing because I was just convinced that the truck wouldn't run. I did manage to cobble together the boots and springs so I could go home.

The 2008 4.7s are an upgraded version over the 2002-2007 ones. They have 16 plugs as you have discovered, as well as a few other changes that put it at 310hp over the old 240hp ones. If you want to do any more work to the truck, you will need the updated service manual. (Many are available either on this site, or as PDFs somewhere on the internet. Someone else may be able to post a link directly to them, as I don’t think I have linking privileges yet) I have my 03 and 06 factory service manuals saved on my phone for easy access.

Edit: I was wrong about the spark plug type and gap info, my bad! Deleted as to not cause confusion.

Also, if you have issues with the boots getting stuck and tearing, you can use a couple dabs of dielectric grease ($1 at most part stores) to keep them lubed up.

I found the 10,000 page book for it. Wow.

This is what I found for the 4.7 in the book.

There is another entry under EXPORT, pictured below

tho it doesn't list upper/lower banks which is what mine has.
