I'll try to keep this breif. I bought a display model deck from my work ($30) and I started having problems with it. It worked great for a few months, and everything worked. Then one morning I went to plug my iPhone into the USB port and nothing would happen. It wouldn't play any music, or charge my phone. So I said whatever, and just used my front AUX cable. This morning I unlocked my truck from inside my house and went to get something out of my truck (my keys are in the house) and my deck was on. The truck was off, but my interior lights were on (because I unlocked it with my key fob) and my deck was also on. Now I just went out for a drive and now I have no sound. I can't listen to the radio, USB, or AUX. Any ideas? Do you think the unit is garbage? Or maybe a loose wire or ground? It's a JVC KD-R620.

Thanks guys.

Matter a Fact I am going thru the same problem and thru out my deck for no reason. Stock Radio is back in and I need to make sure it is turned off before I exit the truck or it will come on by itself. One morning I came out and my tunes were blaring. Been going on for a year or so since my Battery mysteriously died twice. Now the radio goes off, comes on, goes off, etc as I drive and now even the clock is outta wack. I also noticed my accessories key position doesn't always work so I figured out the Fix but waiting for some mod $$ to do it.

So the Problem is a worn Ignition Barrel.
Solution is to buy a new one (approx $60-70 Bucks) then when I pick it up at the dealer for another 30 bucks the Parts Guy will take my key and insert it in the new one, add some small tumbler parts from his parts kit and match my key to the Barrel. Thats another $30. Thats it Swap out new Barrel on my column and I will be good to Go. The radio runs on access power thru the ignition switch so when it wears out your radio goes funky. Hope this Helps and was explained to make sense. I have 160 K miles and Truck is 10 years old. Good Luck. Danny.

I forgot to mention my clock. Let's say when I shut my truck off, the radio say's 1:24pm. If I were to getback in and start it up a few hours later, it would still say 1:24pm and continue on as a normal clock.

Yes Mine stayed Ok, but as the problem worsened I lost the Clock too, every time I had a power surge. Now my Illumination still works for the radio when I turn on my lights but thats because that power is on a different wire. Now I plan to prove my theory in the next few weeks when I change the Ignition switch and will order it later this week. The fact that the Acc position is hit and miss as far as working tells me mine is worn out and that it has to be related to the radio problems. I inspected my wiring and nothing is out of the Norm behind the Radio Area. I hope it cures it for me. Just throwing it out there for consideration, Buds. I'll let ya'll know what happens either way.

Well I went to pull my truck into my garage to work on it, and my deck was on (without the key). So I turned it up, and it worked. It was playing FM, AUX and USB. So I turned it off, and I couldn't get it to turn back on. Long story short, the old JVC POS is out and the stock in back in until I can afford a double din.
