power tailgate opening question

2025 Ram 1500 Laramie. My power tailgate won't open if the truck sits for a while unlocked unless I either open the front door or put my hand behind the door handle to acitvate the unlock. It opens normally by pushing the button on the tailgate after that. It opens fine while using the fob or button on the roof control. Just won't open once it sits for a while with the fob inside the truck and the truck unlocked. Any input would be appreciated....

That sounds like a software issue to me. It’s pretty sad when what is arguably the most basic function on a pickup truck doesn’t work. Have you made an appointment to have it looked at?

I was going to have that checked out when I had the trailer lights recall done, but learned today that the parts for that are slow arriving. So, I'll take it in since I also have an interior light issue and a USB media port not reading my flash drive.
