Getting ready to change break in oil on my 6.4. Im around 600 miles on the odometer now and going to pick up my new toy hauler saturday. Should I wait till after pulling it home , or does it not matter. Im going to take it easy if I dont get 1k miles on it by then which Im sure I wont. I know manual says only do around 50mph towing before 1000 miles and after 500. Its a good amount of weight so Im a little concerned when the best time to change it is. Im trying to decide if i should stay with the pennzoil or go with the mobil which is very cheap and available at wally world. I have read so many different things. I know the viscocity is all that matters and some of it is marketing on the pennzoil. But, Im also a little nervous to switch from it. If its only $30 or $40 more per year to stay with pennzoil.....what the hell. But, if mobil is the better oil, i would rather have it. I dont understand these tests. Are the higher or lower numbers better and for which tests? What oil are u guys using?
