Just installed my tow hitch this afternoon. This thread got it in my head, so, now I'm ready. LOL
Hooked up. Drove about 40 miles of PA backroads. Hilly and lots of turns. Truck did great. Trans temp topped about 140º. I think that's fine. It was only 40º out today so I expect it to climb higher in the summer. No sway problems at all. Felt a gust or two but everything stayed straight. Gas milage was lower than expected, but it was some big climbs. All in all I'm happy.

No offense, but I think you guys with 3.55's worry too much. You have a great platform, and workhorse of an engine in front of whatever you tow, just like everyone else with different gear ratios. If you keep within your limits (whatever those are for your application) you'll be fine![]()
You guys have some nice rigs! I have 3.55's in mine too. Only about 1200 miles, so I'm not hauling anything with it yet. I want to get a few thousand miles on her. I am installing a receiver hitch in the next couple days when I have time. The Ramcharger package I got deleted it for some reason. TT shopping in the spring!
