For those of you that are running a conventional engine air intake setup, what engine air filter are you using? I currently have the stock reusable one on mine, but I'm looking into changing it out if there are better aftermarket options out there.

OEM. I tried wix one time and it was not as good of quality in my opinion. The foam on the wix was not as nice and did not seem as if it would create as good of a sale. The glue that holds the pleats from collapsing on the OEM was stronger and there was more of it compared to the wix.

Also the filter media on the OEM seems more plush and the wix seemed more like hard cardboard.

There used to be an excellent test on air filters from a member on BITOG. That page is no longer available for some reason. It gives you a 404 error and you cannot find it anymore. Basically his conclusion was very obvious showing that the high-performance air filters may have had a much better flow but the filtration ability wasn’t much worse.

If you planned on using the OEM air box it’s hard to be OEM filters.

This is JMO

I am running a OEM filter as well.

Would look at something else if I ever do any mods to the motor such as a tune and headers.

Have a AEM dry flo coming, will go to that from stock. Other than that, not really looking as truck spends more time parked than running...

Where is the tube pulling air from, the engine compartment?

Same as above, ziptied to bumper bracket... add screen to keep out whatever might get sucked up or crawl up tube

Love it!

Cheap and effective mod.

I used a bunch of left over parts from. My Jeep and vw days.
