Hi, I have a 2wd 2011 Ram 1500 crew cab with the 5.7 hemi, and only 87,000 mile on it. The a/c has always blown snowballs and never had any issue with it. I drove the truck this Saturday and the a/c worked great. I get in the truck today (Monday), and the compressor doesn't even come on. It blows hot air and the a/c compressor will not cut on. I read all the fuse locations under the hood and I could not find a fuse for the a/c compressor. I only found fused that inticated hvac front and rear. It either has to be an electrical issue or perhaps the freon is low. The compressor does not kick in and the a/c lines do not get cool or cold under the hood. I just can't seem to find which fuses I need to pull to see if any are blown. Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the video links and the replies. Looks like it is not just a simple blown fuse.

You think it might be the switch on the dashboard that turns the a/c on and off?

Honestly do not know, but if it worked one moment, not the next, nah, not think so.

Reminds me of the old Thermo Coupler fuse that used to be in powerline right where they plugged into the Compressors on the Older Delco (GM) and Chrysler compressors. I do not know if they even still use a thermo coupler on Compressors: (Now think all run by TIPM/BCM. Not sure on 2014, prob TIPM tho) U R way outta my comfort zone/knowledge on this subject). SOMEBODY who knows more needs to Chime in.

But FYI: There are still thermo coupler type fuses on household dryers.

I WOULD still research and see if there is still the AC clutch or whateva called now similar fuse.

HERE U GO OP: This is from a 2013 Manual: Prob same on yer 2014:

Check out this fuse as indicated: AC Clutch: I would look at old fuse, and put in a Brand new one and see what happens: MAKE sure your AC is not turned on when U do this FUSE. Best I can do for you.

On a 2021 RAM 1500 Classic Tradesman 3.6L V-6 automatic the AC clutch is listed as a 10 Amp Red fuse. I am surprised it id so low, but that is what is listed. On my truck it is in the F62 cavity.

If the fuses are good and it just stopped working, look into having the refrigerant charge checked. No refrigerant, no cooling. Also could be a bad electric clutch...
Two interlocks will lock out the compressor:
1. Low refrigerant (caused by a gas leak / low charge)
2. High refrigerant pressure (caused by blocked air flow on the condenser ((radiator)) ).
