My speakers I have now are busted so it is time to get new ones. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should get? Looking for something with a little base so I wont have to buy a sub

Best option is go listen to as many as you can on a sound board. Let your ears and wallet decide. There are endless good options out there.

Alpines are generally a good quality speaker, at a good price for the quality too.

If you're looking for bass, I suggest Kicker. Just installed them in my regular cab and they sound pretty damn good.

While you're at it, I'd suggest getting a new head unit if you're still running the stock deck as well. New speakers won't sound all that much better than stock with the garbage factory unit.

what are you looking to accomplish with said speakers?

i run pioneer 6.5 components in the front, with 5.25 components in rear. Pioneer tweeters, with a Rockford 12" sub. the components are on 150 watt rms x 4 and the sub on 600 watt rms.

I also listen mostly to electronica ie: dubstep, trance, progressive house, etc

Check out Crutchfield, not that you have to buy from them but their website is a useful tool to gauge different speakers. Plus they will tell you what size speakers will fit in factory locations with and without modification. Take that info and find better prices elsewhere.

I used a set of Kicker 6.5 two ways. 100 rms. I have a old PG ms275 driving them with a Skar wvv 10 inch sub in a ported box tuned to 30 hz where the center seat was driven by a JL Audio 500/1
