Ok. I've seen the charts. I've looked at the sidewall numbers. I've read the internet. All I want to know is what tire pressure should I run in my BF Goodrich 275x65x20 tires! Thats it! I don't ask for a lot. All I want is a simple answer. I know it's not rocket science. But I can't get a straight answer. All I Want Is A number!

Whatever the door label says. Probably 39.

BTW, the sidewall limit doesn't relate directly to your vehicle. The only thing it's for is to make sure you buy the right tire for your vehicle. The sidewall pressure must always be equal to or higher than the pressure needed for the vehicle.

I have the same tire size, but a Toyo RT, they recommend 45psi cold for my truck and setup. I'd call the manufacturer and ask!

Best method I've found is to keep an eye on how the tires are wearing. If they are wearing out too quickly on the outside edges, the pressure is too low. Too quickly in the center, pressure too high.

More weight over the front than the rear, therefore you may find setting to 39 will cause the outside edges up front to wear too quick, and the rears wearing too quickly in the center of the tread. Frequent tire rotations should help alleviate this effect however. I recommend rotating every 5k. How aggressively you drive factors in too. How you take corners and brake and accelerate will all affect tire wear.

I set mine to 45 front and 32 rear. I drive smooth and conservatively for the most part.

The best way to figure it out is the chalk method.

1) find a nice big flat level parking lot somewhere

2) make a chalk mark across the tread 90 deg to the sidewall, just a single line

3) drive the truck slowly across the parking lot (DON'T TURN THE FRONT WHEELS)

4) get out and check the chalk line for wear
- if the chalk mark is only worn in the middle, drop air pressure a lb or 2
- if the outside chalk line is gone, raise pressure

5) remark and repeat (take the same path and distance driven before) until the chalk is worn off ~ 60-75% in the middle of the tread

(make sure you remark each time.....you can't re-use the mark)

Ideally, you want all the tread to be making contact with the road, but if you can get all but the outer most tread blocks touching, you should be fine.

Doing this may not even be close to what the door panel says.

On my 97 3500 4x4 dually, to get a good chalk line test, I had to keep the fronts @ 65 psi (cummins), but the rears, I ran @ 25 psi each for all 4. If I remember right, the door said 65 psi

No weird tread wear or problems.

When I towed, I bumped the rear up to as much as 50 psi, depending on the load I was towing

You'll be fine with 40 psi Sir !

I set all 4 @ 40 psi , now typically the front are 40 +- 2 and the back are typically 39 +-2 ...

I use 40 as well, unless I see unusual wear on any of the tires.

I set mine to 40 as well and have almost identical pressure fluctuations. My tires are rated to 44psi (Cooper Discoverer AT3) so 40psi cold usually keeps it under 44 at all 4 tires while driving.

I would be more worried about "cabin pressure" you don't want to ear your roof out prematurely
