I'm planning ahead for the day when I need to replace my stock OEM 265/70x17" tires. I want to keep the 17" wheels but I'd like a bigger tire.

I'm thinking about getting either 285/70 Toyo AT II's or 305/65 Goodrich AT KO2's. Both are wider than my stock tires which are about 10.5" I'm not sure how wide the 17" wheels are so I'm not sure how wide a tire I can put on it.

The Toyo's are 11.5" wide, while the Goodrich is 12"

If I go with one of these will I need to worry about wheel offset, or am I ok?

I just put Bilstein 5100's on, set at 2.1" so no worries there.

Thanks

Are you looking to buy new wheels? That's the only way your wheel offset would change. The 285/70/17 would be better. The break down goes as follows if you are unfamiliar. 285 is the width in millimeters of the tread pattern. The 70 is a percentage of the first number that equals the sidewall. 70% of 285 is 199.5mm of sidewall. The last number is the wheel size, 17 in this case. Easiest way to understand offset is the lower the number or more negative the more it will stick out. Wheel width does effect this but in general if it's negative offset it will stick out, if it's positive offset it will tuck in under the wheel wells.
And with the level you could go even bigger if you desire on tires.

Bfgs tend to run small for the size and tend to be smaller than they say. I'd say both of those tires will be close in dimensions once mounted and on the truck. Either one should work fine, although you always have the option of running spacers if needed

Thanks Jerry. Just looking for tires and I'm really starting to think the BFG's (285/70's) are the way to go.
