What's up guys,

I just purchased a 6in rough country lift kit for my 2017 ram 1500 big horn and trying to find a place in the new jersey or philadelphia area that can do the labor for a fair price.

I've called a few local places and I am getting quoted close to $1500 for labor alone. That seems astronomical to me and I've seen a number of posts where people had suspension lift kits like mine installed for half of that, even less.

Any suggestions or if anyone happens to be local and can do it for me for a reasonable price, let me know.

I'm not trying to low ball either, I would be happy to pay $700-$800 but over $1k just seems on the high side for a lift kit installation alone.

You may be better off looking for a small garage or a local (to you) mechanic to do the install. Figuring a labor rate around $100/hour, that's about a 15 hour (2 day) install which doesn't seem all that out of line.

Not sure what is involved in the 6" lift on your Ram, but with mine (being a '15 with factory Air ride) is looks to be a bit complicated. And with the 1500 being IFS and not solid axle, I'd even guess it is way more complicated that a typical lift install with driveline angles/steering setup/etc.

I have used this guy in the past, he is very good and cuts no corners. May not be all that close for you though (West Point, PA) . . .

My brother has a shop down near Atlantic City, but he mostly only works on Military Trucks these days, I'll ask him if he knows anyone down that way.

Good luck!

Hey Ram in Pa- I appreciate your reply. The one shop quoted $1400 with alignment so I guess that doesnt sound too bad?

I didnt realize how much time this would take, rough country said install time would be 7-8 hours.. but I could see how they would say that to make it a selling point :)

I have nothing fancy on my truck no air ride or anything like that. Its just the big horn with 4wd and hemi.

I used to live close to west point (in king of prussia) before i moved to jersey. Unfortunately too far for me now, but if your brother can do it let me know what he is quoting. Im only 45 min from ac. I appreciate it again, buddy.
