I'm not judging I'm just wondering. A lot of people seem to want to make major modifications, or buy a higher end model truck. I don't mean different tires or a muffler change but a lot of people want to make thousands of dollars in changes or go buy a whole different truck because their's doesn't satisfy them.

I am in between #4 and #5. Overall really like the truck, but later on realized that I could have lower diff gears or 8 sp tranny for the same price. Should be one more item above " I didn't research enough" :)

There you go. Feel free to vote so we can get a good feel for what the most common reasons are. Thanks

I want the top level trim but wont pay for it, I aint paying a additional 20k for special leather and interior carpets and sunroofs and all that

But I want it, but not worth it in my imo

Trucks never meant to be 70k+ vehicles imo.

Mine is pretty close, option-wise. I might have chosen a different color, and 3.92's instead of the 3.21's. But my camper is only 3k loaded, so 3.21's are fine for my needs. As for color, we definitely didn't want black or white - we got dark blue, so it's all good.

Tons of other options available, but we didn't need any of them.

When buying my current truck meant letting go of my old truck that had a lot of sentimental value. But it was getting older and growing family demanded more space. I wasn’t gonna settle unless I got everything I wanted, I got what I wanted in the Laramie trim. I almost settled for a big horn but it was missing things I wanted that were standard on the Laramie. Only thing I didn’t get that wasn’t a dealbreaker was tow mirrors and air suspension. Now I’m glad I don’t have the air suspension lol. Now I have to work on making my new truck stand out.

You know, it changes from time to time.

Sometimes, I think "...you know? I should've gotten something with the 3.55 or 3.92 gear set"... but then I remember that the heaviest stuff I tow weighs like 3500 lbs. Other times, I think "Man, it would've been nice to have gotten something with the uConnect 8.4..." but then I realize that I barely use the features in the RA-5 that I have now, and Google Maps works just fine on my cell phone. Other times? "Ecodiesel would've been a much better motor!", but then I see the prices for DEF and diesel fuel.

The more I drive the thing, the more I realize that I have, pretty much, exactly the truck I need and want. Sure, there's little stuff - the wheels need to be chrome, and yeah it could've been higher off the ground, etc... but it's minor stuff at best that I can take care of. I also thoroughly enjoy the fact that I only paid $23k for my truck, and not $53k (or more...)

They also don't come factory lifted with big tires, aggressive exhaust, lowered to the ground or with any number of things some people want. They're made to sell to the widest market and meet emissions and safety standards so mods are the only way to get what you want if you don't fall in the majority. Aka most of the guys on this forum.

and I've been looking at Power Wagons. So that would be a heck of an upgrade for my 4x4 Big Horn 1500..

I have the truck I needed. At the time i Also wanted a 4th gen cummins, but my hemi was a need vs the cummins being a want. I will keep my Hemi for a period of time, and when I am set up in a good position, I'll get the Cummins that I wanted.

Truck I want doesn't currently exist.

Same here.
The truck I want is a 4th gen crew cab power wagon with a 5.7 and manual transmission.
Settled for my current truck because it is what was available when I was looking, and while it wasn’t what I wanted, it did check all of the “need” boxes on my list.
